Oboist Joanne McNab (b. 1988), was raised in Nottingham, England and currently studies at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.

Joanne has been the principal oboist of the Texas State Symphony Orchestra, the Texas State Chamber Orchestra, the Texas State Wind Ensemble, and the Balcones Symphony Orchestra in Austin, Texas. She has been performing at churches, weddings, university and surrounding school concerts and events, operas, and plays for several years in the San Marcos/Austin/San Antonio and surrounding areas. She received the John and Mona Piersol Presidential Scholarship for band.

In March of 2009, Joanne was invited to play two concerts in Rome and Florence, Italy, with the Texas State Chamber Orchestra. She has performed in a holiday concert with the Austin Symphony Orchestra, as well as in many other musical collaborations in churches and weddings across the South Central and North Texas region. She has performed in plays such as the Caucasian Chalk Circle, operas such as The Magic Flute, silent film musical adaptations, a 'psychedelic rock' band in Austin, Texas, as well recording for Utah State Firefighter Memorial Museum. Her passion for music spans across a wide range of genres, from classical oboe to contemporary.
